DUGDERAN - Semarang Municipality
A celebration in the form of Bazaar in which the Moslem people of Semarang welcome the coming Moslem fasting month held night and day in front of the old Grand Mosqoue of Kauman, beginning from one week prior to the fasting month. The celebration is ended up with a "Dugderan" procession on November 5, 2003, starting from the Mayor of Semarang's Office, at Jl. Pemuda Semarang up to Mesjid Besar (Grand Mosque) of Kauman at, Jl. Alun-alun Johar where the big drum is sounded to mark the beginning of fasting month. The procession is featured with the mascot of Dugderan, namely "Warak Ngendok".

SYABANAN - Semarang Regency
A religious traditional event taking at Ngampin village, Jambu Sub District, Ambarawa. The people first must buy pancakes sold a long the road between Ambarawa and jambu and then they bath in each of the seven existing water pond (the seven ponds are respectively) Condong, Tulung, Klotok, Sambung, Ngisrep, Soca and Aji). It is believed that those doing this, especially the still single ones will get partners soon.

SYAWALAN WITH GIANT "LOPIS" - Pekalongan Municipality
As normally celebrated by Moslem after having had a fasting month, similar traditional celebration of "Syawalan" is held at Krapyak village - Pekalongan Municipality. The event is marked with the cutting off of the giant "Lopis" food (of sticky rice with about 150 kg in weight) done by Mayor of Pekalongan and then distributed to visitors who attend the event. Historically, this event was held since 1855 pioneered by "Kyai Abdullah Siroj", a famous local Moslem leader.

SYAWALAN KALIWUNGU - Kendal Regency
As it like "Syawalan" celebration, this one takes place at, Kaliwungu Kendal Regency 24 kms west of Semarang. Local art performances and night bazaar are held to highlight the event. A traditional event "Khol" is also held to commemorate famous local Moslem leaders. Namely "Kyai ashari" at Protomulyo Cemetery.
